Deepening a Trance

Question
Aside from counting down, what do you do to deepen a trance after the induction?

Answer

Although there are some fine deepeners using steps, elevators and the like, I feel that deepening isn't necessarily a "separate" thing you do by counting down with the word "deeper" or the like.  Often, I build into my scripts a deepening process. It isn’t obvious, but it fits in with my idea that the "induction" should be more of a process that "journeys" clients into their depths. Therefore, the induction can stand alone, have affirmations added to it, or have the so-called "prescription" or "patter" added.

With that said, my favorite deepener - contained within the body of at least two of my scripts rather than as a separate item or script - is as follows:

"It’s okay to allow your entire body to respond to the idea of relaxation… It’s as if the top of a large hourglass was filled with fine sand,,, dry sand that drifts, down,,, hour,,, after hour... drifting down,,, minute,,, after minute… second, after second,,, drifting,,, down… Warm sand,,, drifting… so pleasant,,, so comfortable,,, that It feels good to let go completely…  "  (Sand flowing through one's fingertips can be used, as well.)
