Clearing A Traumatic Event

Question

Hi, Del, I'm wondering if you could suggest what type of script to use for a client of mine who was shot at with a pellet gun over a year ago. It seems that her feelings about it were repressed until lately when she began having dreams about the incident. She's been feeling "depressed and anxious" and more so when the sun goes down. She feels her anxiety as a tightness in her body and a lump in her throat. We did some EFT and TAT in the first session which helped to "move and decrease" the lump and when she returns for her next (2nd) session she'd like to do hypnosis. Many thanks.

Answer

I assume that you've done the "problem-solving" script with her from Vol III (forms of it in IV for children and preteens) in which you convince the deeper mind to seek out the imprints causing the problem behind her anxiousness and depression.

She may be relating this to other fears that would be normal today related to guns and violence.  You could find out if there are any other occasions in her life that remind her of this or of the feelings she's getting and see where it takes you.

As for the pellet-gun incident, you might try having her conjure up the dream, walk into it with her, go to something benign, first, and then to the incident.  You could have the pellet gun turn into something silly and useless and the pellet melt before it even gets to her.  Or you could have her "re-dream" the incident to her advantage, e.g., the gun fires the pellet, but it misses her.
