DESCRIPTION OF COURSE

Hypnosis with Children and Pre-Teens, is a course that was created for the advanced training of hypnotherapists, as a result of requests by schools in Canada, England and the United States. Although this course assumes the reader is a hypnotherapist, it can be effective, in many ways, for counselors, parents, teachers, and others who work closely with children. However, the course text does assume that the student has adequate basic hypnosis and hypnotherapy training. Currently, this course is being taught within doctoral programs of schools in Canada and the USA, and in China by a former pupil of Del’s.

Created in 2002 by Del Hunter Morrill, M.S., N.B.C.C.H. (Nationally Board Certified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist), the basic text of the course is the GREAT ESCAPES workbook, Children and Hypnotic Methods. It assists therapists trained in basic hypnotherapy, counselors and others to become skilled in helping children and pre-teens with their success. In companionship with it is Volume I of the GREAT ESCAPES script series. Its intent is to transform children’s lives through the means of visualization, hypnosis and other imaginative methods. The workbook’s text has been translated into Chinese, along with its accompanying GREAT ESCAPES, Volume I.

At the conclusion of the course, the student will receive a certificate of completion from Transitions, Inc., a Center for Personal Guidance and Hypnotherapy, as a Specialist in Pediatrics Hypnosis.

COST OF COURSE

The total course is $750, which includes the workbook-text and the GREAT ESCAPES Volume I. This fee can be divided into two payments of $375 each, using a credit card to which the 2^nd payment would be charged, but held for no longer than four months. THE COURSE'S CONTENT

The course is set up 33 sessions and assignments that can be used either in the classroom or in off-campus/correspondence training, within the maximum of a two-year period. Completion of the course results in certification as a Specialist in Pediatrics Hypnosis, by Transitions, Inc., a Center for Personal Guidance & Hypnosis.

As soon as a lesson is complete, its assignment is to be given to, or sent to, the instructor, Del Hunter Morrill (also the author of the curriculum and the GREAT ESCAPES script volumes). She will read the particular assignment, give advice and suggestions for improvement, and add a grade for the particular session. These grades will accumulate and, along with the final test and documented sessions with clients, will result in completion and certification. At certain points in the course, the student will be asked to have sessions with children, with selection of each client by agreement of the instructor and with written permission by parents or guardians of the children. These controlled sessions must be recorded and written up to be sent in to the instructor. Number of client sessions required will depend upon where the student is in the course, and how well the student is doing in the assignments.

The course includes free consultation by phone with the instructor-author. The free consultation continues after a student has received their certification.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Del Hunter Morrill, a full-time personal guide and hypnotherapist, has been active in personal and social development for over 50 years. She has been using hypnotic methods in her practice since 1986. She has received extensive training in Pediatrics Hypnosis, and has been working with children from ages 6 through 17 since 1992. She received her Master of Science in Clinical Hypnotherapy from St. John’s University, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

Del's notebook series GREAT ESCAPES is seven volumes, containing scripts and other resources, three volumes of which are for assisting children, youth and the adult-child. Currently, her books are in use by individual therapists, clinics, university doctoral programs, hypnosis training centers and other training programs throughout 27 nations, including the United States, Canada, England, Ireland, South Africa, Indonesia, China, Denmark, Qatar, Norway, Taiwan, Romania, Israel and others. At the time of this writing, her scripts are being translated into Danish, Spanish, French and Chinese.

She is an active member of the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapists Association, and is Director of Childhood Studies as a Board Member of the National Board of Professional and Ethical Standards. Del was nominated Woman of the Year in 1998 and Hypnosis Woman of the Century in 2000 by the International Hypnosis Hall of Fame. She is a Life Member of the National Registry of Who's Who.
