OBSESSION over a Broken Relationship

QUESTION:

I am looking around for help because I am suffering from a mixture of obsession/addiction, depression, and emotional abuse. This has been caused by one guy who I am absolutely in love with, but who fell out of love with me and treats me terribly now. It has been going on for 4 and 1/2 years. I was wondering if A) my problem is something that can be helped at your place, and B) how counseling works for such a situation?

ANSWER:

I have been working with healing past emotional, sexual and physical abuse of every kind for over 28 years now.  However, I have learned, in those years, that there is no sense to coming to me for an obsessive relationship if you really don't want to give it up.  Neither counseling or hypnosis can make someone do something they don't really want to do.  You would have to be willing, and allow me to seek out the reasons you are unable to handle this broken relationship.  As for depression, it seems to be related to the same issue, so the same information applies.
