Is Hypnosis Demonic?

Question
I am searching for an answer to my 7 year old's problems. I am trying all the medical procedures and just recently heard of hypnosis and some amazing results. But I am a skeptic and believe in God and have been told this is demonic. Please advise.

Answer
I am a Christian, and I have been using hypnosis in my counseling practice for over 14 years, without any harm, whatsoever. Basically, a person can't be hypnotized against his or her will-- It is NOT brainwashing, as some mistakenly believe. Nor does getting relaxed give room for the devil to enter. These are concepts based upon a misunderstanding of just what hypnosis is. Everyone experiences hypnotic states; they just don't call them that. This includes daydreaming, getting caught up in something where you forget time, or you don't hear your name called. Every driver experiences it when they miss their turn and wonder who was driving the car for a few moments. And every single person experiences hypnotic, trance-like states (called altered states) when they go to sleep and when they awaken. In other words, hypnotherapists are making use of what is very natural to everyone - states of being that you and I experience every day.
