Compulsive Spending

Question
I have a client who would like to be hypnotized to reduce or eliminate her compulsive spending habits. We have numerous publications of hypnosis scripts, but i have yet to find one that's appropriate for this client's issue. Do you have suggestions for some resource regarding such scripts?

Answer
Just as people can be addicted to drugs, alcohol and gambling, so can they be addicted to shopping and spending beyond their means. I don't have a particular script on this matter, but I have had clients who have this problem. This is what I've done, at times: First, I use the script on problem-solving, in which one gets the higher consciousness (or deeper mind) to go to the causal imprints or impressions that are causing this problem. This script appears in my GREAT ESCAPES Volume II, with a revision in Volume III. With this script neither you nor the client needs to know what cases the problem. Second, I adapt the script I have on stop drinking (or smoking) to "stop the compulsive shopping." You find these in the GREAT ESCAPES script volumes, II (Smoking) and III (Induction for Addiction). I'm currently working on a more direct script for drug and alcohol addictions. Third, if these two sessions don't seem to make a dent, then I use some regression method to get at when the over-spending problem began.
