DEAR DEL,
I can't get my husband to the dentist. Ever since he was a kid, he has been terrified to go. Of course, he doesn't admit this now that he is "grown up." Can hypnosis conquer fears of dental work, needles, doctors, and the like?Often fears of needles, dentists and doctors come from some early childhood experience. It's as if that child within is still operating like yesterday is today. The hypnotherapist can help that fearful part of the client to realize that time has changed, and that he is now a grown-up. He can handle such visits as an adult. This may be done through regressing to the original scary incident, or by merely requesting the unconscious/subconscious mind to release those old imprints, or change them to more mature ones.
