Young Children & Hypnosis

Question
I have a daughter that is 3 years old. She has had a problem with constipation. So she is afraid to go to the bathroom #2 because it hurts. Would hypnosis work on a child this age and could hypnosis be used in this situation? Too maybe help her forget about the pain. We have tried everything else but nothing has work. Maybe this would?

Answer
Straight hypnosis may not be for that young a child. While your child is coloring, or cuddled on your lap, tell a story that has to do with letting go of things, easily. Create a story of getting rid of things, that has a repetitive rhythm to it, including words like "there it goes - plip, plop, plip plop," Also, give suggestions of how easy and pleasant it is to go to the bathroom whenever it?s time for her to go, repeating the "plip, plop, there it goes."

Her diet should be checked - milk products can produce this problem, as well as too much white flour and other processed foods. If she isn't going to one already, I'd get her to a good naturopathic physician as soon as possible to rule out such things, and to make some dietary recommendations that will soften her stool and allow her experience a more pleasant bathroom duty for awhile.
