What is Hypnobirthing?

Question
Can you give any more specific information on hypnobirthing? I have never heard of this. I am just very much afraid of hospitals, needles and the whole process all together, but definitely want to do what I can to overcome this.

Answer
Hypnobirthing is becoming a recognized specialty. In many hospitals, people trained in this are being welcomed, both during the pregnancy and during the birthing. In my own system, I would see you once a month, until the birth, and would want to include your partner in the last sessions before the birth. I would also have a session with you after the birth. I use a combination of encouragement, awareness and hypnotic processes to prepare you. Hypnosis can take care of your fear of hospitals, needles and childbirth, itself, easily, as long as you are willing. It will assist you in being more comfortable during your pregnancy, in having less pain and using less anesthetic during the birthing process, and in faster recovery after the birth. Hypnosis can also help you remain a calm parent, afterwards.
