Remembering an Accident

Question
I got into an accident a little over three years ago, and I still can't remember a few minutes before it, and two days after it. My friend died in the wreck. I want to know if being hypnotized can make me remember it.

Answer
I'm so sorry about your accident and the loss of your friend. You don't say what kind of accident or whether you were the one driving. This might make a difference in the loss of memory, especially since a friend died. I can understand your frustration, but look at it this way - perhaps you don't remember because it is the way your mind has of protecting you. Maybe it is too much right now for you to remember. If it is really important to you, then seek out a hypnotherapist who is also a counselor, and let that person take you on a slow, gentle journey rather than a quick one. Healing the past is important, but it must be done in its own time.
