Nerve-Muscle Diseases

Question

I have a form of muscular dystrophy, a genetic disease common in my mother's family. It causes chronic severe pain. I'm told is irreversible. I've tried, unsuccessfully, all kinds of pain medication, and now have a morphine implant. Still, I have a lot of pain, use leg braces and a wheelchair. Could hypnotherapy help me?

Answer

I'm sorry you are in such discomfort.  I think hypnosis definitely is worth a try. I say this because many people are unaware of how effectively hypnosis can work with medical issues. Hypnosis works with the subconscious mind, which has, as one of its jobs, keeping the body "running."  It makes sense, therefore, that suggestions can be made when hypnotized to help the body do its job better, and to unblock anything that is preventing its proper functioning and healing.

Hypnosis can be very helpful in controlling pain and reducing medication. Also, suggestions can be given to the body-mind to reconnect, properly, the pathways between your nerve and muscular systems.  Hypnosis can be used to help you cope with your illness, and release your own body's natural healing abilities to help your body work more effectively.

Get a good hypnotherapist who works with the body's healing, knows also how to get to the source of problems and uses suggestions to get whole body to work better; if he or she is also a pain specialist, all the better.
