Migraines & Other Headaches

Question

#1: I have had severe migraines for 40 years.  Have you had any success in the treatment of migraines?

#2: I have experienced chronic headaches for over thirty years, and have found little long-term help from pharmaceuticals.  Many headaches are brought on from anxiety related to a break in my daily routine.  Even vacations and things I love to do may provoke an attack.  Can hypnotherapy help me deal with these stresses and strains of everyday living?  I am normal in every other way.  At least I think so.

Answer

I’ve used hypnosis to effectively relieve all kinds of headaches, including migraines.  It is especially helpful to go to a hypnotherapist who works with the body and knows how to get at the root of problems.  For instance, you may have some issue of guilt over doing anything pleasant for yourself that comes from your early life; or there may be current stresses that affect you as a headache.  At the very least, hypnosis is a wonderful tool for alleviating stress and tension. A hypnotherapist who specializes in pain relief can help you manage your pain, and cut down or discontinue pain medications altogether. Also, acupuncture is known to be very helpful to many in relieving or lessening pain.

If you haven’t considered it already, I would suggest that you check with your medical doctor and a naturopathic physician to evaluate your eating and drinking habits to discern whether you are ingesting anything that might be an allergen or otherwise harming you, causing or exacerbating the headaches.
