Excessive Worry

Question

I seem to worry a lot about things in my life and would like to quit.  I have had excessive worry and depression for most of my adult life. I have had panic attacks at night which wake me from my sleep. I worry about having the latest illness that comes up on the internet or television.  I believe that things would greatly improve in my life if I could stop worrying so much.  How can hypnosis help me?

Answer

Please understand that whatever you're experiencing is coming from the unconscious/subconscious mind--and it’s hard to stop the thoughts.  Hypnosis is very effective in going to the root cause of those obsessive thoughts and worry, which lie in that “deeper” part of the mind.  Also, hypnotic methods can alleviate worry and build your sense of esteem and confidence.

One way to talk about what is happening to you is that your mind and body have really created some strong, negative “hypnotic trances”, which need to be broken by more positive hypnotic work.  The imprints made on your brain by whatever incidents have given rise to your worrisome self continue to operate as if you are in danger. Yet, there is no “current” threat that should cause such reactions.  Your body and mind still thinks there is. Hypnosis can change that irrational understanding by helping bring that part of you forward into this current time, rather than staying stuck back when the cause of the worry first began.

It will help if you contact a hypnotherapist who knows how to get to the source of problems, for something, no doubt, is eliciting this chronic response.
