Dealing with Anger

Question

I am interested in finding out if you work at all with children and anger.  I have a 12 yr son who has always had anger issues.  This school year has been terribly difficult on the whole family, as he refuses to do homework, gets in frequent fights and has been suspended numerous times. Can hypnosis work with such problems and such children?

     I've worked quite effectively with anger, especially in boys of pre-teen years, as well as school problems. However, it is not enough that you wish your son to be able to control his anger. Your son has to want to come to me. 

     I would want to know something, from your son, about the school he attends, whether there are bullies giving him a bad time, or if he has fallen behind so much in his studies that he is unable to respond at all. One of my specialties is learning and memory.  I have helped many students learn to enjoy school, read better, and complete their work successfully. This helps abate anger by a significant amount, because the child no longer feels like a failure. 

     Hypnosis can get at the reasons for the anger, and can give suggestions that give alternatives to expressing his anger in negative ways.  It builds self-esteem, raising the positive sides your son’s attitude toward himself.  However, you must also be prepared to have suggestions given to you if, as a parent, something needs to change in the home, besides your boy’s anger.
