Child Lacks Confidence

Question

Dear Del, I have a 16 year old daughter that feels she is not pretty.  She also feels that no one likes her.  She was in a private school from kindergarten to fourth grade where the children ignored her.  When she tried to talk to them, they said they were not talking to her.  She is now very popular in school and has many extracurricular activities such as sports and music.  However, she still feels that no one likes her as she cannot let go of her past.  What can she do to get over this?  How can she be perceived better as there are some people that think she is snobbish or too quiet until they get to know her. A concerned mother.

Answer

A qualified hypnotherapist works with the "deeper" self, or unconscious mind where the old stories reside.  It shouldn't be difficult to shift out of that old programming to "new," as long as your child is willing to do so.  If you're not near, then you can find a good hypnotherapist in your area by asking anyone you call if they work effectively with youth and self-esteem. Also, find out whether they do the kind of work that seeks out those negative imprints, and releases them thereby, releasing the hold her past has over her.
